I went to London on Tuesday for an audition. It’s my first one for an actual feature film and its even listed on IMDB, how cool is that?! It’s called Goal and what makes it better is that the team it focuses on just so happens to be Newcastle United. And as luck would have it they are indeed my team that I have been reared to support since childhood. So if I get in I might get to play for the toon army and fulfill a childhood dream in a manner of speaking.
Although, they were asking a lot of questions about my football skills, which are shall we say not as good as I may have let them belive. But as they say it’s all about getting your foot in the door.
They took some head shots too and asked me to show a few different emotions. After seeing one of them lets just say that my brooding look could do with some work. Comedy moment of the day had to be from the guy who brought all his football kit with him. He was so gutted when they told him we weren’t having a kick about, I think that might have been the only reason he came!
Apart from that I’ve got quite a few other things come through that look promising. So tomorrow i’ll be running off lots of cvs, showreels an headshots and sending them out to see what i get back.
I hope I do get it though, then when I update this site I could refer to the movie and call it my new movie like actors always do in interviews and stuff. And when people ask me what i’m doing I could say “i’m working on a new movie.” Most importantly though I’d finally have something worth putting on friends reunited! Stuff like that is purely for my amusement, I assure you I have much better reasons for wanting to be an actor. Now if I could just remember what they were!
